Michael P. Bonds

Mr. Bonds is formerExecutive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of United Airlines. He spent 27 years in the airline industry, first in a variety of finance functions including controller and Chief Accounting Officer before moving into corporate development (alliances and mergers and acquisitions) and finally into human resources and labor relations. Mike was a member of the executive team atContinental prior to the 2010 to merger of Continental Airlines and UnitedAirlines. Prior to joining the airline industry Mike was a certified public accountant with Ernst and Young in London and Tulsa, Ok.

In his role asVice President of Corporate Development at Continental Airlines he served as one of Continental’s representatives on the board of Panama based COPA Airlines (now a NYSE-listed company) and was actively involved in Continental’s successful effort to monetize its minority investments in the Amadeus global airline reservations system.  

Mike earned a BSBA(with honors) from the University of Arkansas. He and his wife reside in Chicago. Mike is Treasurer and a board director for Skills for Chicagoland’sFuture and was a director of Boys and Girls Club of Chicago and Lurie Children’s Hospital.
